Default Nitto mud grapplers ?

I am looking at my next new set of tires and really like the 35x13.50x16 Nitto mud grapplers ? Are they any good and do they grip good in the mud or rocks and how do they ride on the hwy ?

any "off road' or "mud tire" will ride like crap on the highway, some are worse and some better but none are good

I personally hate Grapplers and so does almost everyone. The only reason people have them is they either came with their truck or they don't care about money and will pay for tires that only last 10-15K miles. I'd go with Cooper STT, Mickey Thompson MTZ, or if you want the best of the best then Toyo MT. These 3 have the highest treadlife and do very well offroad, they will get you 45-55K miles if you take care of them.

Not many people are fans of them as you can see! Not a very good tread life for the price... If you do lots of highway driving don't spend your money on a mud tire, get an A/T instead and save the money. Got gears to go along with that size?

Everyone I've talked to outside of DF has said the same thing everyone ON DF will say: they suck. Pretty much Nitto in general. They were THE tire to have 5 years ago, now, not so much.

Go with Cooper, Yokohama, or Falken.

I've been really impressed with the Cooper and Falken offerings lately. Nice and aggressive and have good reviews as far as traction.

I had the Terra Grapplers, and they are good on mud and rocks. They are also highway friendly and not too noisy.

toyo mt, cooper stt, or for an a/t goodyear wrangler duratracs. i have the duratracs, have about 35k on them, and still have better than 1/4 tread on 3 out of the 4 tires.

ive gone thru 3 winters with the duratracs, and im going on the 4th. they ride great, and are not noisy at all.

the key to all tires, is rotation, and balance. keep up with those and they will last tons of miles.

Cool guys ! My dad has grappler A/ts on his 06 F250 super duty and they have about 30,000 on them and about 2 yrs old and plenty of tread left but it looks like the muds don't do that great ! Yea i am putting 4.56s in the truck so it will have plenty of gear ! How much better gas milage will it get just by changing gears ?

Going to 35's? Gas mileage will decline. Not nearly so much as it would with the stock 3.55's though.....
