So who here DOESN'T have a cracked dash?
So I've been reading and apparently cracked dashboards are super common with these trucks. When I bought my truck it came with a dashmat from the stealership. To this day my dash looks brand new, and has no cracks or anything.
Anyone else in this boat? I'm trying to figure out what causes this. I'm gonna pick up a Ram here pretty quick to build as my next project. I'd like to run the cage through the factory dash so I don't need to get a sheetmetal dash built for mad $$$. |
not me. mine's cracked all to hell.
|
I've got my original dash with no cracks in it.

non-cracked dash crew signing in!! :p
|
0 cracks.
|
I don't know of the original owner had it replaced or just got lucky, but my dash is in perfect condition. So's my plenum gasket! :icon_dance-twist:

No cracks here.

It cracks because the all knowing builders of these trucks didn't take sunlight into consideration for the plastic, so I have been told. Besides coverups, their is another company that sells totally redesigned dashes that look factory but don't crack. But they are pretty pricy.

mines not cracked. It appears that the 98-01's were worse than the 94-97's about cracking.

Both my 96 & 99 are mint
I even have a 5" tach with shift light on the Indys dash :) |
