I bought my 98 1500 sport almost three years ago, and it would tear the tires loose all the way threw 3rd gear. now it seems like it can hardly spin the tires in the mud. anything to check, or play with to get that nut back?
I want to put 3.92's in it but the rear alone is like $325 on summit, then prolly another $300 for the front. Most likely have a clogged cat, old one broke off at the exit and threw in a universal without provisions for o2 sensors so i ran it without for a bit and that prolly did it in. anyone no if i can get a highflow with the o2 sensor bung in the front of the cat like the stock one had? that doesnt run me $400?
only problem with that is dodge didnt put 4.11's in the 1500's, and a set of richmond 4.11's run about $400. I'll probably end up getting a junkyard set of 3.92's and another set of 33" micky t mtz's
Didnt come factory with taller gears cause 35" tires wasnt an option.
Try looking for a lifted Ram in the bone yard, may find it has the gears you need
unfortunately my closest auto recycler is full of chevy's and fords, with the occasional dakota hangin around. If there is one, there's prolly no way of tell what gears are in there without opening up the diff, right? what gears came in the 3/4 tons? I think it would be neat to have the only reg cab short box 8 bolt around town if i could find a cheap set of axles.
