Heater core = DONE!

Hey,
Congrats on the heater core. I have a 2001 ram 1500 and just did mine last friday Sept 09, 2011. What a nightmare. I don't know what I did wrong. I have no heat. I removed the glove box and felt the core, its cold. I went under the hood and felt the hoses, both of which I replaced with new ones. The one from the water pump on drivers side is extremely hot. The one on the passenger side is just hot from the heat under the hood. Its as if its not circulating. Does anyone know if I did something wrong, or if i'm supposed to bleed the core somehow?

That's backwards. The line going to the pump, from the heater core, is the return line.... Disconnect both hoses, and run some water thru the heater core. (use the garden hose, or whatever ya got.) Try not to trap any air in the core. Run water thru in both directions, and make sure it flows. Put it back together, see what happens.

I took both hoses off. Ran garden hose through one end at a time. Water flowed freely in both directions. Put back together and ran truck, Still no heat to the core. Went back on this site and read about air pockets. The suggestion was to take radiator cap off and run engine. Also revving engine from time to time for about ten minutes. I topped off radiator with fluid, left cap open, started her up, waited a few minutes until she was warm. Then took a feel and nothing. So I started revving the engine for about five to ten minutes. Took another fell and it started happening. Was feeling the heat, so I continued revving. Was noticing antifreeze bubbling out of radiator from time to time. Everything was going well and saw no more bubbling. Took another feel and core was hot as hell. Tested heat and everything was fine. I left truck running and put cap back on radiator. Wanted to see under pressure if there was a difference. Went back about ten minutes later and core was cold again. Was this the right method and should I keep doing this? I'm going out of my mind!
