How many miles...?
I am curious (as im sure many other people are too) how many miles we can expect our 2nd gen rams to run. I know I would be interested to know how long mines going to live for or if its likely its going to die soon. If you could include your truck year, engine size and mileage, that'd be great.
I've got a 97 1500 with 212,600 on the board and still running strong. original automatic transmission, NEVER gone through or rebuilt.

lol After I bought my truck, It was it was like every member here was pissed off at their truck because it was breaking, and it had me worried. I've had mine since April of 09 and the only things I've had to replace has been the brake lines, Tranny Fluid, Oil, spark plugs, and plug wires. Routine maintenance stuff. I know nothing of this "Ram Karma" which is good, because I'm mechanically challenged. I couldn't of asked for a better truck so far, then again, I'm really not very hard on it, generally only take it off roading once in the summer on the 4th of July every year I've had it, and During the winter when it snows, at least once a winter.

My dad has a 96 1500 5.2L he bought it new, drove it off the lot with 6 miles on the OD, and today he rolled 398,000 miles. No plenum repair, and the most in depth into the engine he has gotten is changing the water pump. He is on his second 5 speed manuel trans, and he left his house with me tonight doing a burn out. It burns oil, but has for almost 200k miles. he hauls scrap with it as well, so it hasn't had a princes life. Just napa oil and filter's.

The only complaint I have with my truck is that it came from Vermont, and I think the previous owner followed the salt truck all the way to Missouri when he moved. It's bad, I'll have to take pics sometime. Bed is bad on the wheel wells, Drivers side Rear door has a hole, Other side rear door isn't great either, and the Pass. side Rocker and Fender is toast as well.
Here's a pic of the Drivers side fender, 6 months after I bought the truck, 2nd day I had my license, a Focus tried to make it look better. lol It was the worst panel on the whole truck at the time.
It all worked out in the end though, got a free Drivers side fender out of the deal, and a sweet 2010 F-150 for a whole week. lol
