Well I picked up the truck this evening from my buddies house and I am impressed! He used a shop vac and a small screw driver and cleaned all the chunks out and hit the rest with gum out. He said he pulled the valve covers, and surprisingly there was very little crud there, all of it seemed to lying on the top cam plate. Thanks goodness! I at least know when the valve cover gaskets were last changed!

So after he put it all back together, he let it idle for 20-30 mins and then ran it pretty hard he said for a good 20 miles to the store and back. Ran strong right away he said. He then drained the oil right away. Said it was not as bad as he thought he would see, not a ton of sludge in oil. Changed oil and filter there after. He said for me to change it again in another 1-2K miles and then every 3K. He told me you seen what happens when you don't! lol

So I get in it a fire it up... Smooth idle, no hiccups as it had every once in awhile. Sweet, off I went stomping around! No hesitation after 3K on the tach, runs strong to 4-5K. After OD engaged, no shudder/hesitation either!! Super Pumped!

On the way home I have to climb a decent small mountain. On a normal day I would take it out of OD manually going about 50 and she would end up kicking down to high 2nd gear on some of the steeper spots. She bulled right through it tonight, no downshift at all the whole way up... Pretty impressive actually. My wife is not going to be happy with my future purchases for her now that she is running strong. Lift, tires, trans temp gauge, and tuner are next!

Parts installed/replaced during project

Ebay Plenum Plate
Felpro Intake Manifold Gasket Set
Felpro Intake Manifold Bolts
Felpro Valve Cover Gasket Set
Distributor Cap
Rotor
Autolite 5224 plugs
Autolite Wires

He also said that the water pump was recently changed before I got it too. Added bonus info!

Thanks for all your knowledge DF! You guys know your ****!

Awesome! Happy for you

Might wanna do gears while you lift and throw on beefier tires, probably 4.10s minimum.

It is amazing how some people neglect their vehicles! Glad the projects went well and the results were good!

I have a lot of reading to do on tires, lifts, and gears. Nice to not have to be reading about plenum threads...

Indeed! Glad I took care of it before it became a much bigger issue. Now that I know the engine is good, feeling good about putting some money into her. Which then I will be needing a tranny overhaul I'm sure

I found a set of rear leaf springs for a 99 2500. How much will this lift the rear end from my stock 1500 leaf springs? I also wanna run 2500 front coil springs and shocks.

I wanna run either 285/305's, I want them to stick out from the wheel wells a bit, can I get some spacers for my stock ram wheels to push them out a bit more? Do I need new studs then for lug nuts? Not too farmiliar with wheels/lifts.

Any info would help me out! Thanks

2500 leaves are 1/2" wider than 1500 leaves. It's not a direct swap. The front springs will swap with no complications though.
