The tailshaft housing does not come off by simply removing the 4 bolts on a 241HD, something has to be removed from the inside of the TC to take it off. I called Dan at Quad 4x4 at the time I was trying to install mine to confirm. He also said he needed to change the description of what TC's it fit's. This is the reason I sold my TC saver. Besides, I think the shaft is bigger anyway.

I hate to possibly ruin a nice feel good story but...

I think you got *** raped on that part.

Did it look like this?

I don't know what the diameter of the shaft is so I guessed at 1 1/4. That looks like a 2 piece shaft collar and you can buy them from Mcmaster Carr for $5.17 for 1 1/4 diameter. Any diameter 1 1/2 and under is less than $8. Some hardware stores even stock them!

That's a pretty good profit margin for fancy packaging!
