Rumor has it, the 4.7 has issues all it's own. (blown heads and such.) At least, on the early models....... But, that is just hearsay, so, take it with a grain of salt.

I met my alignment guy coming out of a business in town last week. He was in his 2004 4.7 Ram 1500 with a blown head gasket. He had it repaired, and says he loves the truck. He's got 86,000 on it as of last week when we talked. James says he intends to drive it for as long as she'll go (he's still working at 67). He indicated no other problems and his is an auto. He's always been a Dodge guy (our only dealership in town).

Thought I'd share K.

Thanks. Yeah I know nothing about them. My dad drove a durango with 4.7 for a few years. Didn't have any problems while he owned it but he didn't have it too long.

Here's a (sort of) build thread for a Durango. Unsure of what you are having in mind, but they take alot of work.

Used my neighbors bender, he's been begging me for the last year to use it...so I started.

I didn't put in my own thread about installing the Redhead and additional cooler.

Did it back in August, so great solid 7 months. That includes DD on the old 35s, wheeling, and now with the 37s.

I guess you could call it mandrel, but not typically. The tube is clamped to the die. A follower is on the outside of the piece and the tube rides in the die. It's manually operated (can add hydro) to pull the piece around the die.

This is 1" tube 0.065" wall. JD32 bender

Here is where I'm at with it as of yesterday:

Wh1t3Nukle,
I'll be down tomorrow and we can do some more bending............. I need to make the hoops for both of my front seats plus the rear seat. It is the one thing I have still not done to mine.

My favorite part is it bends the tubing without leaving that huge wrinkle on the inside of the bend. For doing exhaust and such, that would be awesome, IF it will do 2.5-3 inch pipe.

Wildman -- Give me dimensions, maybe it's sizeable enough to ship.....otherwise, see you tomorrow!

HeyYou -- the mandrel you are thinking of is at exhaust shop. Not an issue for that thin crap. This bender max OD size is 2.25" iirc. Each die set is like $200 - $400. Cheaper to go to a shop for your stuff.
