Hey tin can thx for the comments. Let me give a go to answer your question.

There are some general rules indeed, however the behavior of lockers still varies across rigs but I'll simplify to just one, weight. First, ARB locker is air actuated. It truly is on/off and for the most part instantaneous. Sometimes a delay for locking collar to align if older design. E-lockers tend to have longer delay and may require effort to load/unload the axle.

If you can't lock both, put in rear first. The rear does most work.

Terrain conditions determine rpm response. But my philosophy remains to avoid wheel spin at all costs. It only takes a split second of shifter weight to lift/spin/down/shatter.

Picking your lines to maintain traction takes seat time in rig. Preferably with someone familiar to guide. Too many times jeep ppl think their way applies to a full size. They get someone stuck and say "well my jeep was fine". Plain lack of attention to detail.

I always encourage ppl to get out and look for themselves. If there is a larger rock or thing on the way, consider putting tire on it.

I'll leave that for now.

Oh and scraping rocks is one way to tell you that on right path. Haha. Yet I actually slammed the front diff 10 minutes before that picture coming down the pyramid. Very slight dent in factory cover. Pretty stout and no issues. Will change to my new cover soon anyways.

Then finally changed up the former 5 lug spare carrier to 8 lug. Added a spacer to avoid cutting off the 5 lug one.

Hey guys, been a while.

Just wanted to let you guys know that my old girl aint dead yet. I just bought a 1997 cummins reg cab long box (no engine/trans) for $700. Was in a roll over. Has a D60/70 combo, 241 tcase, and a MINT long box (mine is dented and rotted). When it rolled over it caused damage to the cab but nothing else it appears. Still need to find a good used trans but then ill let the build begin. 5.13s, ARBS, 40" tires, custom bumpers, more lift, and eventually a 408 stroker but for now I have no problem with my 318 even if she is starting to show some age. I have the truck off the road now so ill take my time on it and do it right the first time. Now that I have a small car for a DD I want to take this truck to the extreme and still have it road legal for use as a secondary DD/WW
