BTW - What color is the truck?

When I needed autobody work done, shops were about 50/50 split on the official name being "Chili Pepper Red" or "Metallic Red Pearl" when I was getting estimates. However the paint has started to fade, and "Pink" would be a more accurate description.

"Metallic Red"

"Chili Pepper Red" was the metallic paint for the Durango in 99, it was slightly darker.

Sounds good to me.. If I had my way, the truck would be Amber Fire Orange.

Amber Fire is a nice color. Not too common though.

I definitely like the choice to keep it. Your not really getting anything better out of a newer pickup. I was a little bit luckier on the transmission. Got a reman w/36000 mile 3 year. Frankly, they are the sexiest pickups on the road. Not all super tall like new ones (especially the front end), but nice curves and that "Im driving a tank, get out of my way" feel.

Yeah, newer truck will have to wait until around tax rebate time. Around March or April I hope to be rockin' a HEMI..... or *gasp* Escalade EXT. Either way, I'll probably keep this truck around.

Can't rock an Escalade EXT unless you become a rapper.

Escalades are great for booze cruising with all the friends I don't have....and hemis are great until its time for new spark plugs, as was already mentioned. I just don't like new vehicles and all the crappy metal. We had a hail storm, and my friends fords (96 escape) hood looked like a golf ball. Mine turned out good though, only two dents, and they aren't noticeable until you are in the right light.
