Do you have links to proper HID setups? There's such a sea of options out there I don't know where to start. Thanks.
Do you want links to just the kit or the kit and headlights? Just tell me what you want and I'll link you too their website. Now be warned the website is expensive I sourced mine threw eBay. The HID bulbs I got with the headlights were cheap Chinesium bulbs and I had problems with them 2 weeks after installing them. That's when I bought OPT7 bulbs.

I saw OPT7 website but they have a million options. Searched youtube and some guy with a cummins put in some bulbs with a pigtail deal that converted to LED. But I don't want a ticket. Just something a notch better than stock would be great. Is that HID then?

Link to whatever you bought would be a start. Thanks!

HID wouldn't be it then. They are the brightest legal headlights. Mine shine about 100 yards down the road in low but realistically can only see about 40-50 yards. They are so bright I never use high. Here is what I bought: http://www.opt-7.com/bolt-ac-series-55w-hid-kit/
Mind you, you need projectors to run these. They actually went way down ($70) since I bought them ($100). I have these for high and low and then LEDs for another low as PA law states can't have HIDs for only highs because there is a 1sec of darkness until they warm up. I'll get a picture for you tonight on the road situation and what not.

Don't go to a dealership for the parts!!!!! See my post as to why.........

Even if you have to buy the cheap ones from eBay and seal them with Loctite Fuze-It before you install them then that's what I would do before ever buying them from a dealership!!!!!

Looks like led is the new tech but hid is mature tech. I'll look into the LEDs I think. Too much harness, warmup, and melting issues with hid I'm reading.

Warmup isn't long about 5 seconds. Technically the only thing HID has over LED (wiring wise) is the ballast. Will only melt if you don't have projectors. If you would like I can compare the $80 HID kit to my $450 LED kit. Just let me know

That's okay. I have my annual road trip from WA to MN in a week so I'll see how these new housings and bulbs do. But my next step will have to be the HID or LED setup. Just can't compete with new cars' lights.

I personally like HID over LED but that's me. I like the brightest I can get. Headlight Revolution (I think that's the channel) on YouTube has really good videos on HID vs LED and different headlight projectors. Interesting stuff to watch.
