Default 2001 trim codes

I just picked up a 2001 1500 and would like to decode my trim code. It's SXC3. I found a site that says this is Presidio Gray, but it isn't official and I'd like to know for sure. Incidentally, the interior is sort of a blue color, which is why I am dubious of the website.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks!

Go here, enter your vin, click submit. It will tell you everything your truck came with from the factory. (including color)

I looked at a lot of the VIN decoders but never found this one.

Thanks, HeyYou!

That one is from Dodge. So, a lot more in-depth information available. Now, if they would just STOP reshuffling their site, and breaking my reference bookmarks.

Which Mist Gray is this?
It says "mist gray." Ok.

Now, does anyone know the matching paint so I can spray my replacement dash? I specifically want to match the lower dash where the fuse panel and knee bolster are.

Any help appreciated.

You could take off the knee bolster or glove box door and have a auto paint shop match it up for you. That is how I'd do it. Some of these places have the equipment to put it in a spray can for you, rather than rely on you spraying it with a spray gun. Also, would use an adhesion promoter so it doesn't peel later.

Good idea, but sounds expensive. Hoping to buy something ready-made over the internet.

+1 for custom match rattle can, it will not be perfect but should be totally acceptable, assuming the person mixing knows what they're doing

Or try LMC truck for their Mist Gray rattle cans, probably around the same price as custom mix.

Your interior looks to be "true" mist gray, my 97 has the weird darker "Mist Gray" (so says the VIN...) which was not mist gray and in fact Presidio Grey, which LMC does not sell, hence the idea of avoiding potential disappointment and just getting someone to mix.

And yes use the adhesion promoter for sure.

Thanks for the info. I have seen (see original post) that the code on my sticker means Presidio Gray, but if you say it's darker, then I guess not. Could I ask you to post a pic of your interior for comparison purposes? If it's too much trouble I understand. I have a new dash coming next week and would like to get it right.
