1994 ram 1500 Speedodometer question
The speedodometer on my truck(1994 Ram 1500 2wd std cab long bed 5.2l Automatic Trans.) has malfuntioned. After doing some reserch and pouring over the 1994 Dodge Truck Service manual and some preliminary diagnosis I believe the that I may have to change it out. The manual shows that there are two types of instrument clusters available for that year model, High Line and Low Line. I have the High Line which includes the Tachometer. My question is this: Is the speedometer for the two clusters the same and can it interchanged from one to the other?
Thanks in advanced for your help. |
Now that, I don't know..... you would have to pull 'em apart, and have a look.

The reason for my question on this matter is that from searching for the speedometer replacement online as a second hand part, it appears that it can only be obtained as a component of the entire instrument cluster. That being the case, if the speedometer that I need is correct only in the High Line cluster my options are limited to that part only. On the other hand, if the speedometer from the Low Line cluster can be used in the High Line cluster as well, I would have a larger source available to search for the desired part. Hopefully someone on this forum can enlighten me.
Because being a newbe to this forum, I am not sure if this thread should be in this Non-tech section or the Tech section. |
