It needs a good seafoam treatment, full tune up with brass parts, and then run hard and put away wet.

And deathflash is what I've had since 2002 and I still have fought ping for years off and on. Tuning it will make it way way worse. There is no 'cure.'

Issue seems to have been with the plenum. I put a hughes kit on it and the pinging has stopped.

Do the seafoam anyway. Burning oil tends to leave deposits in the combustion chambers, and on the valves, cleaning that off will only make it run better.

I agree, run Seafoam in the next 2-4 tanks of gas. It usually helps after a 1/2 tank, but I think it takes longer than one tankful to clean everything up. It will actually clean carbon out of the combustion chamber.

I would do both the fuel treatment and vacuum one
