Guess I need to get out more, I've only ever ran into the 2 in 1 out, with 1 upstream and 1 downstream sensor.

In later years, it was single in/out, California has some differences from everyone else over the years as well.

The (HD) heavy duty version also had duel cats. I think they were just the 5.9's.

Those had to be really rare, as I have yet to see one.

I was thinking the same thing, but I never handled any 3/4+ trucks with gassers, they were all diesels.

I Don't remember seeing dual cats until the 4.7, but I don't think my 5.7 hemi trucks even have dual cats

My 2001 1500 5.9 HD and CA emissions. 4 O2 sensors, 2 on each end at the first cat, upstream and downstream. The second single big one has no sensors. It is a 2 into 1 going into the big cat.

Driver side, hard to see upstream O2 sensor

The big Cat

Passenger side upstream and downstream O2 sensors

2 into 1

2 into 1

2 into 1
