97 ram overheat
Hi all. Got an issue i can't solve. I'll be as specific as I can.
1997 Ram w/ 360ci
Just did a crank job and replaced oil pump(just because)
replaced water pump
replaced thermostat twice
replaced hoses and belt
Fan clutch is good
flushed the cooling system(super flush)was working perfect before crank job.
engine usually runs 200-210. now it will go to 230-240. it will not overheat.
intake side of radiator gets hot but the outlet side is still cold even after 15 mile drive.
it doesn't seem to be circulating coolant with any power. this happen with the old pump to which is why I replaced it.
the heater hoses get hot and the heater works fine.
I am clueless. Air in the system? never had this with this kind of system, I thought they were self purging. help me before I get the shotgun out!

RE: 97 ram overheat
You may have gotten adefected water pump. Sounds like everything is in order but the pumpfails to put out the volume needed to cool the engine efficiently.
Is the water pump a rebuild from a local parts store?
Ive had several issues with rebuilt water pumps and starters.
