How do 360's respond to nitrous

How well do the 360s take to a low shot of nitrous? like 50 or 75?

I don't know a whole lot about nitrous but what I do know is that it shortens the life of motors. I plan on installing nitrous on my 360 but I will only do that after I do a complete rebuild with a bigger cam, stockier pistons, etc so that it can handle the abuse. I would think that a small shot of nitrous would be ok but I wouldn't risk it myself. I would put the money into a supercharger running a safe amount of boost if it was me. Ithink the 360 can handle 15 psi boost.

I wouldn't put that much boost on any motor that doesn't have lower-compression pistons. With the stock 360's compression, I wouldn't run more than 6-8 psi of boost.

i agree, 7 would be about all the low end could take id think. As far as nitrous shortening the life of the motor, it doesnt, as long as its done properly and used appropriately. You can have catostrophic failures if its enguaged improperly, or from the shock of the increase in power. Most motors can handle a low shot of nitrous with ease so im not too worried about how well it will hold up, but moreso how it responds to it.

You could easily run a 35- or 50-shot all day long. I wouldn't go any higher than that, though.

No balls. Run 50 and report back. [sm=badbadbad.gif][sm=nxsmile.gif][sm=outcold.gif]

it may be the option for those times when those pesky LT1s cause problems a little further down the road. (btw, thats my benchmark, my buddys 97 formula)

my buddy has a 4.6L thunderbird, hes got nitrous, he does i think a 75 shot, and hes done it a few times with no problems, hilarious as hell, people don't expect his car to be a built v8 sprayin nitrous.

I would rather build motor up than get NX. You would bennifet in the long run to do a complete tear down, make it a 408 Stroker, or bore it out, or do both:D Get some really decent heads, a hot cam, some big compression pistons, like 12:1 or so, and a computer retune, not to mention all the other goodies to go with it.

You'll have to run racing gas (110 octane) with it (or propane I guess :D) with compression that high. You could run E85 too actually.

That would bennifet you alot more then NX at the track. Just my 2 cents.

i had a mark8 and one of the guys in our club had a 125 shot and 4.10s on it (same mn12 body as the tbird)and it ran high 12s. they are nasty with nos.
