Default 1997 Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 with V10

My truck is making a clicking and catching sound. I think it's the rearend. Can some one please assist me with this issue. It will also catch like something is hanging down and hitting the road, nothing is. It has about 190000 miles on it. Any assistance will be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks in advance

Can you put the rear on jackstands (blocks the fronts...) and run it a bit, see where the noise is really coming from?

You can ride the brakes a bit to put some stress on the driveline....... Wouldn't hurt to take a quick look at the u-joints though.....

Where I am the roads are snowy and slick. I was able to spin tires in reverse and "power brake " in drive. Both ways it makes the noises.
