pacesetter longtubes

let me start by saying i have heard all the theories about how long tubes kill low end torque, in my experience they do not. anyway, i bought the pace setter longtubes and y pipe and plan to install them this weekend. if anyone has already done this mod could you give me some pointers? should i put a new starter on now or is it easy to access with the long tubes in place. thanks.

Shoot, I woundn't put on another starter cause who says the new one will last 6 months.
I'd keep the one that's working.

Another note, not trying to dis, but in the Sport Compact world we stay'd away from Pacesetter.
Is the quality different here?

I have heard bad stories about Pacesetter around these truck forums (no firsthand experience with them myself though), but I have also seen a few posts about these new longtubes they make, and they seem like they are quite nice. Only time will tell if they hold up though.

i love mine except for the fact i think i got a bad set of coated headers from the factory...everyone else has no problems with the jet hot coating....and for performance wise there is no contest with these over the shorties

RE: pacesetter longtubes

I saw pics on another forum of them mounted on a 4x4. Seriously tight fit, but they work. Looked really good too.
