Default power window switch removal

My passenger power window switch quit working and I need to check it. Do I have to remove the entire door panel or will the plastic housing come out without breaking?
thanks,

there are 2 clips on the far 2 ends of the switch, either pull straight up on the switch or pull up one end a little andpush a flat headed screwdriver into the clip and lift. You do not need to remove the door panel.

If you don't want to put that much strain on the switch assembly, you can take the door handle out, and then reach up to the window/lock switch and push it out. That's just me... I worry about breaking things.

BTW, make sure you check the driver's side as well. I believe the driver's side acts as a master and the passenger side is a slave unit. and check you connections, I had the same problem a month ago and the connections were just loose. Greased the rails while I was in there and now they work great.

Quick question for you... By "greasing the rails," do you mean the little copper pieces that flex to make the connection? If so, maybe I need to do this. My passenger side is a constant struggle to keep working.

No,

The rails are the track that the window lifters roll on, inside the door (kind of looks like a scissors jack). You'll have to remove the interior door panel and the plastic film that keep the moisture out (if you're careful you can reuse it.) Don'tuse axle or bearing grease or the inside of the truck will smell to high holy hell.Use something like white lithuim grease. you canpick a spray can of that upat HD or Lowes for about 4 bucks.
