Ram on it's way out

Looks like old Blue is on the For Sale block. It's been great to work on and I've had a lot of fun with it. I've also learned a lot from everybody on this site.

However, it's time to look for bigger, stronger, and faster and it looks like a 2004 Ford F350 Crew Cab with at least a 6.0 litre turbo diesel is gonna happen.

Gonna miss my old truck. Engine only has about 8000 miles on it and the tranny less than 1000.

AS a ex Ford owner, I advise you to stay away from any Ford truck built after 97 ( old body style ) The 7.3 p/s was a excellant engine, by todays standards, it lacks power and is nosieybut more relaible than the 6.0

Ford's are now the dogs that dodge used to be....

buy any truck, but a ford.

dont do it... the ford 6.0 has problems. do your research 1st. I'd suggest the cummins motor, tried & true, been around for years & years

It's true. The cummins puts out more power and uses less fuel than the powerstroke. That's a unique combination.Honestly I'm thinking a 2002 2500 CTD is going to be my next vehicle. They're awesome.

What they said. The newFord diesels are very problematic, the V8 OHCgas engines are slugs and get bad MPG (I get waybetter MPG with my 8.0 than my boss gets with his 5.4) and the 6.8 V10 has earned a reputation for blowing spark plugs through the hood among other problems.

i worked at a ford dealership before i was converted. the 6.0 diesels are always in the shop. there only feature is they look nice, but a cummins will slam that in the ground. stay loyal to your brand, you love your dodge, so stick with it. just move to the CTD section of the fourm. :D
