how much lift clears 35's
i have a 97 ext. cab 4x4 1500. on some of the leveling kits it says that 2 inches can clear 35's but then on the fabtech 3" kit it says 33's. so how much lift do i have to have to squeeze 35's in. i think i can fit 33's stock (thats what ive been told) so 2 inches might be able to get 35's

RE: how much lift clears 35's
lol no. You don't really want to do that. Go witha 3" body lift and you will "squeeze" 35s.

RE: how much lift clears 35's
You are correct when saying that you can fit 33's stock I had my buddys old set of BFG Mts, that he handed down to me when he got his lift and 35's. The tires were great and did not rub at all but where very worn down from my friends abuse of them so I ended up buying some new 31's for the winter. The only thing I didnt really make me happy was due to the tire to wheel ratio being off or adleast in my eyes it was.
To fit 35's though you will need 5 inches worth of lift to fit them without rub. I was under the impression at first that all I would need is a 3 inch lift to fit 35's untill my buddy, that gave me his 33's made his first attempt to fit his 35's on his 98 dodge and disscovered that he needed to add 2 more inches of lift to stop the rubbing. He did however slove that problem by just putting in some cheaper much easier to install body lifts than buying a hole new 5-6 inch suspension lift. |
RE: how much lift clears 35's
another option, if you're careful with rim selection (width and backspacing), is to use about 3" of lift, body or susp, and use 1/2" to 3/4" longer trailing arms. i have 3" body with stock susp (including arms) and with 315/75/16's (very close to 35") they rub a BIT....if the rims weren't 10" wide they would rub less yet.

RE: how much lift clears 35's
I have a 97 1500 4x4 est cab. I have 35s on and started with a 3" block lift. The tires rubbed and it sucked! The rub was significant and destroyed my turn radius. I now have a 4.5" suspension kit. I still touches alittle if i crank it all the way but it is much better. the kit cost like 700 and is the way to go if you want to run 35s

RE: how much lift clears 35's
5" for 35's is the general rule.

RE: how much lift clears 35's
i have a dodge 1500 2wd with a 3inch bl and thats it. i run 315/75/16's. they rub a little but thats it. i stay on road 99% of times. so they are nice. looks good.

RE: how much lift clears 35's
so with 3" of lift 35 will fit but rub. and with 5" of lift 35 will be good. what about 4" of lift. if i did a 2" body lift and 2" suspention. would that fit em?
