Default oil pressure sensor

i have a 1995 dodge ram with a 5.2L

when the truck is warm and at idle the oil light sometimes flickers and sometimes stays completely on...when the light stays on my oil pressure guage drops from a little above 40 to 0.

when i bring up the idle just slightly the light goes off and the oil pressure goes back to normal.

have any ideas of what the problem might be

do you know where the two sensors or guages are located or if they are connected

your oil pressure sending unit may be going bad, swap it out there pretty cheep. It's located next to the distributor, make sure you clean the wires if there is any oil on the connector.
