'01Ram P/U Quarter Window
The plastic thingie that goes through the quarter window glass from the outside that the Latch hooks to is broken. I went to the dealer and it doesn't show up on the drawing of the Latch. We couldn't tell if the plastic thing comes with the latch.. Called a auto glass shop, they told me to go to the dealer or junk yard. I did some research and found the the Latch is used on a lot of models and years. I couldn't find anything about the part that goes through the window. Help please. Thanks in advance!

Sorry I didn't answer sooner. I went to the "Stealer" and the part i need isn't available (not even listed). I called some wrecking yards and was told the only way I could get the plastic thingie I need is to buy a window For $70.00! I'm going to measure the part and go to a "pick-a-part" yard and see if I can get it off of some other vehicle. Thanks for the input.

I've got a '96 donor here. You need the screw and any associated bushings/spacers that pass thru the glass? If you want me to ship to you we can explore that.
Also I'm not positive if the glass is identical from the no-doors ('97 and earlier?) to the rear suicide doors ('98+?) ?
Point being I can't swear my stuff from a '96 will work for the later models.

Also for anyone in the future, there's no reason I see you couldn't whip this up on a lathe from Al (or steel if you wanted). The factory one appears to be Al
You don't HAVE TO have the weird splines in the latch, you could just stuff a pure round in there and snug the screw. The diameter of this feature (inside the latch) is .340" not including the splines. The splines are kind of a luxury like the square under a carriage bolt head
