Default Wierd ABS Brake Behavior, Won't stay Broke!

Howdy All,

New to the Forum, I have a 01 Ram 1500 with 87k miles. Saturday I had Brake and No Brakes ABS and Brake lights on and off. Speedometer worked the whole time at all speeds. No rhyme or reason that I could find. Yesterday, all was right with the truck. Saturday the ABS Control Module wouldn't talk to the OBD 2. If it matters it is 5.9 Automatic with towing package, previous owner had a trailer brake switch on it. Any sugggestions on where to start would be appreciated.

Needed to add, No fluid loss or apparent leaks found.

Thanks,

Sam

brake light and abs light staying on is often a faulty speed sensor. there's always a long running debate whether its the sensor on the top of the rear pumpkin or the speed sensor in the tranny/t-case

Would this cause the brakes to be almost none existant and not pump up?

Have you checked the Master Cylinder?

maybe your break booster (thr big black round part connected to the master cylinder). They can be pretty pricey though. I know my sister had the same problem with her 2000 S-10 blazer, had to replace the booster, it also made a bad hissing sound when brake applied.
