Hello
All i am new here hope this gets posted in the right place.
I have a 1995 ram 1500 it has a 318,I was wanting to know
what can i put the engine and trans in with little to know problem
Car,jeep,truck

so, you want to use the drive train from your dodge in something else? how about a smaller underpowered 4 cyl Dakota. kinda like the v8 s10 swaps, would be fun. probably gets harder from there.

something that had a magnum v8 as an option from the factory is gonna be about the only "no problem" swap

Some Dakotas came factory with v8's so that'd be simple. With a few upgrades itd be fast too lol.

Unless it originally came with that engine and tranny, you will probably have to:
1. Get a custom cut driveshaft
2. Do crossmember work
3. Do mount work
4. Run your engine with a computer SEPARATE from the original car computer. unless you are swapping into an old car.

If you are swapping the 318 into a chevy that came with a 350...kit yourself on the head. You can build a 10 second SBC for the price it will cost you to get to 13 seconds on a magnum.
