Cruise Control not working

there is a vacuum test port on the passenger side.
you could remove and plug the vacuum line going to the cruise control solenoid underneath the battery, and run a temporary vacuum line from the test port nipple to the cruise control solenoid.
if the cruise began to work again
that would indicate you need to carefully work backwards down the original vacuum line to the cruise control looking for the leak
good luck

I removed the battery and the tray, and yeah vacuum hose is broken in 2 places- right at the elbow, and about 2 inches away from that. Dodge dealer quoted me $16 for a new vacuum line harness they call it, including the elbow. Ready to plug in at both ends. Pretty reasonable I'd say, or is repairing it better?

I am having a similar problem with my Dodge ram 1500, 1998 model. The light comes on the cruise control engages when I press the button and set the speed, but about 60 seconds later it disengages as if it were turned off. Then it does not come back on again. All hoses of been checked, no vacuum leaks, all hoses of been replaced. Any suggestions?
