engine idle's low

at first it acted like it didn't want to start then when it did turn over it wouldn't stay running then i held the rpm s at 3000 then let off the gas and drove it around and it idles below 1000 is that normal

Mine idles around 600-700 (ish) RPMs once its warmed up.
