Typical ram cat issue
I brought my truck to the muffler shop today to fix my exhaust leak (the flanges at the down pipes roted out, would of fixed it myself but i dont have a welder =/)
anyway they told me im also going to need to replace my cat i believe his exact words were that the donut is blown and its causing the cat to rattle. i havent really noticed a rattle, im assuming my exhaust is loud enough to mask it, its just when you are underneath you can hear it..
anyway question is is this a pressing matter for me to fix, i dont wanna spend the 160 bucks to replace it just yet, saving money for my headers after all

well i was looking at some of the high flow cats, i mean i have the dynomax ultra flo welded muffler, and i wanna get some high end headers, i want to increase flow and sound,
its tough to tell how good of sound you get when you drive in it, cant really hear how loud it truly is... but how much do used cats go for anyway, i need to do some comparisons
lol well its technically illegal for you to buy a used cat...
you can legally sell them to a junkyard though...
i was going to get the dynomax or catco normal cat's because they were like $55.
My setup is going have the Pacesetter LT headers, dual 2.5in pipe, no cats
, magnaflow x-pipe, then 2 Spintech Prostreet 2.5in mufflers and then out before the rear pass. tire. should be sexy...
thats prob gonna be the best setup... in theory.

as long as the truck is running ok, and you don't mind the rattle, you can put off replacing the cat.
if the cat should break up and/or stop up, then it might get where it won't rev up, and you'd have to replace/remove it then.
