5in lift w/ 33's
 

I need more lift on my truck!!!!

Currently it is just a 2 inch leveling spacer, and I have very bad rubbing issues... Ive already trimmed my wheel wells in spots and my tires are getting chewed up fairly baddly.

I know 5in lifts are usually paired with 35'in tall tires or so on these truck, does anyone think it would look really dorky running that much lift on my truck with my tires? I plan on getting 35's when these tires wear out.
If someone could find me a picture of a 2nd gen ram with 33's and 5inchs of lift please post it up!

A 3 inch should clear, unless you are wanting to run 35's down the road. I notice a big price jump from a 3 inch lift to a 5 inch.

what rubbing issues do you have. a buddy of mine has the same truck just black, and an extended cab, runs 33X13.50's and doesnt rub anywhere...

I know 3in would clear, but only if I got new trailing arms...
Im looking to save money now by going straight to a 5in insted of getting a 3in and then buying a 5in.

Mine rubs becasue my rims have so little back spacing they are kicked out so far that when I turn most wheels this size would be tucked in, mine hit the corner of the cab.

Im thinking about piecing a lift kit together from topguncustomz insted of buying a allready put together 5in lift.

I was tihnking about getting, rough county 5in springs, 2in AAL, 1.5 in block, custom control arms, trackbar drop bracket, and drop pitman arm...
All that came out to be like 700 before shipping, and I can deal with that.

You'll be better off with the 5 inch and longer arms, until you get 35s. Your rims will always be an issue because of scrub steer.
You might consider a 3 inch body lift instead. That will lift the sheetmetal away from the tires. With a 3 inch lift you would have over 6 inches of total lift. You stil might rub, but not at every corner and curb. :)
I have over 4 inches of lift with 285's which are very close to 33 inch tires. At the time of this pic I attached, the lift was fresh but since then the front has lost about an inch. No clearence issues but I run different rims.

I run a 3" body lift with only slight rubbing issues on 315/75 16's (mostly because the rims are too wide). Going to add a few inches of suspention, but really only for ride (roads up here are absolutely brutal everywhere). I like the body/susp combo for a few reasons...keeps the frame lower, keeps driveline angles lower, and taking the trans out is a lot easier! lol.

Heres a pic when I had 33's on my truck. I have 6" of total lift (3" suspension and a 3" body). I dont think it looked too weird. Sure, 35's would have looked better, but I dont have 4.56's like you so I stick to 33's.

Thats what I was scared of a little bit, that much lift make those tires look pretty small, but not bad.

I think that I will do with a body lift... alot cheaper.

To those with body lifts... does your reciver hitch hang down really low and look ugly?
How do the bumpers fit after you raise them?

This kit says it doesnt come with gap guards, What is a gap guard.
It also doesnt come with the back bumper drop, does top gun customz have this or where would I have to get it.

Yes, the receiver looks like it hangs down 3" lower (although technically it doesn't move). If it really bothers you and you are good at fabricating it could be raise.

The bumpers look like factory when done correctly. My kit didn't even come with bumper brackets so I modified the front ones and it looks perfect. The rear I just drilled new holes in the frame and re-bolted it.

As far as gap guards go, they are not needed. All they are is a piece of rubber that covers areas that really "gappy" looking (like under the fender wells and such). Honestly dodges don't even really show gaps with a body lift... its the Chevy's that are really bad (i have never even seen gap guards for a dodge).
