Take the covers off the steering column and check the wires where it swivels, you got a bad one.

There's a connector in there that can get loose ... I've heard of this before.

thanks, I'll check it out.

I had this problem on my old 95 Grand Prix that I had. My brother (certified mechanic) told me that from using the tilt wheel all the time the wires in the multifuntion switch (turn signals, high beams, wipers, etc) tend to wear out over time and will then short out causing miscellaneous problems related to those things. You could try to look for a bad wire or replacing the switch should surely solve the dilema.
From the sounds of it the wire only makes the proper contact with the steering wheel up high and as soon as you budge it it disconnects/shorts out. I ran into this problem on my wifes truck but hers acted like the left blinker bulb was out. It would blink much faster than usual and then after about a day or two it started to smoke (no doubt from shorting out) in the steering column when you turned the left signal on. |
Everything that's happened before ... WILL happen again: https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...ilt-wheel.html
