Default Differential change over

Does anyone know if you can change out the stock 3.73 gears to something around a 4.56 ratio??? I have a 01’ Ram 1500 that I put bigger tires on. 285/75R16 when you hook a trailer on pulling down the highway it runs out of power on the flat. The gear ratio calculator says with that size tire a 4.56 would give me a 4.09 ratio. I know you can get a 4.10 ratio that should take it to a 3.80 ratio.

4X2 or 4X4? There are plenty of places that sell 4.56's. You are not using overdrive when towing are you?

I have 285's, and 4.56 gears, and its really too much gear for those size tires. 4.10's would be just about perfect.
