Default rebuild motor

I can get a boneyard motor with all accessories. for $110.00. I want to get the exact same motor as mine, block, heads, and intake, to rebuild. Does anybody know where i could find a list or site of what cars, vans, trucks I could pull from?

If your looking for a magnum engine from what I know, the only trucks that carry that engine are the dakota and ram. the only van that has that engine is the B series vans.
from 94 and up. Although you might nee to use a different intake. Hope that helped.

its good to stick with the same size - 5.2 or 5.9

i think the only other difference will be the intake.
egr vs non egr.
1 temp sensor vs 2 temp sensor.
you could just move your existing intake to the new motor.

other than the intake, i don't think there's any difference, even between 94-95 OBD I and 96+ OBDII.

Wasnt the balancing system changed over the years. Or was that just different between the 5.9 and the 5.2.

Do yall think the vin code would be ok to go by for engine size, and what years should I be lookin at to get my specific intake. I would like to get same one, cant take off old motor cuz its in truck being used. Plus x-tra parts are always nice. BTW its not a magnum engine.

using Vin code is a good starting point, but you need to learn to tell the diifference by looking at them. if you get the wrong one, then you'll likely experience some PCM problems with fuel, and have to go back and screw around with the computer.

i "think" the difference is in the look of the harmonic balancer on the crank. somebody will correct me if i'm wrong. i'll post a pic of a 5.2 here in a moment.

VIN position ? Y=5.2 Z=5.9
