Does anyone know what clor the reverse wire is that activates revers lights under dash, or in steering column. I need to find a wire to trigger a relay for two add on revers lights..

Thanks

Kind of like this...

I just tapped the the wire in the left rear taillight and got my power from the +12V trailer light lead. Then added a switch on my overhead console for FORCED ON lighting for trailer hookup...

I have never seen lights mounted like that before but I imagine they do the trick Nice diagram for the relay hookup.

On a side note... mopar1973man, do you really have a 42RE in your 96 ram? (look at your sig)

tap the backup light in the tailight, to either operate a relay (preferred) or directly power the lights (not the best way). i got a couple of cheap little lights from northern tool which mounted very neatly to the receiver hitch.
