Default Front U-Joint

I'm replacing the U-joints on my front drive Shaft on my 97 4x4 Ram. Looking up in the parts manual for 97 RAM, it lists (front at diff PN 05016382AA) and the two at the transfer case PN 04504575. However these don't seem to be the right parts as PN 05016382AA has outside and inside clips and the two rear at the transfer case are only inner clips only. My setup as you can see in the pic, I need the front one to be inner clips only, and the two at the transfer case require only outer clips.

I did notice that the 98 parts for this drive shaft are (Front at Diff PN 04504575) and the two at the transfer case PN 05014062AA seem to be the right ones.

Wanted to ask before I make a purchase if I should buy the 98 parts or not as I'm not sure they will fit, but seem to be the right setup clip wise.

thoughts?

Looks like my 99.

Parts for mine are:
- Spicer 5-1330x at double cardan
- Spicer 5-7437x at diff

At the axle it uses outer clips on half and inner with strap on the other half (like the rear diff). At the DC, both outer.
Worst case, measure and get them in person from a store. Driveline and heavy duty axle shops sell Spicers.

Not sure if you've pulled a double cardan joint, yes that's the correct terminology not a Constant Velocity (CV) joint, apart before. There is a spring in there that likes to pop out when the two u-joints are removed. Watch a YT video for reference.

The weights on the DS are OK, noticed you had them circled.

SKF UJ617 Info
Fits4WD; w/ 2 Joint Shaft
or4WD; w/ 3 Joint Shaft
$31.79

You'll want to replace this while you have the double joint apart.

Here's the front u-joint SKFUJ248GreaseableInfo

Here's the double joint SKFUJ248GreaseableInfo

They have the needle grease fitting on a cap so they are easy to grease once they are installed.
