looks good, ditch the shock boots though. they retain moisture and cause the shocks to rust out. plus they look cooler without.

nice truck what else you plan on doing to her

That is pretty sweet and the price is right. I'd like to do the same thing with my 97 Ram 1500 4x4 but it is a Sport with the short bed and single cab. How do you find the front coil spring spacers?

Do the tires rub?

Erm, guys, 4 year old thread? Don't expect an answer.......

You can find kits on ebay that have 3" coil spacers and 2" blocks. Then purchase some shocks that are designed for a 2-3" lift. I bought mine from ruffcountry.com
I just did this on my truck and am very pleased with the results. I bought 285/75/16's but they would rub at full lock. I had to buy new rims to clear the tires. Mine is a 99 ram sport 1500 ext. cab. heres a pic. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/attachm...ine=1360009447 |
Great thread. I love this site. This is exactly what I want to do. Did you guys experience handling or steering issues?

Why wouldn't an AAL do the same thing as a block in the rear? |

My steering is great, no issues from the spacers.
Yes Add a leaf is better than Blocks for sure. But does make the ride very stiff. The kit I ordered came with the blocks so I just used them and they work great. The blocks with the kit came tapperd to maintain the correct angle for the axle and also came with pins so theres no way they could slip out. Here is the kit I ordered http://www.ebay.ca/itm/3-Front-2-Rea...item4d01738036 If you dont want to use blocks just order the spacers and the add a leaf seperate. Make sure you get extended shocks though. The new rims had a negative offset which brought the whole wheel out a couple inches to make sure the tire would clear everything. |
