I would guess 99.9 % sure its the switch If you have already checked fuses....has a seperate fuse under the hood....i posted at an earlier time that i have the same problem, little copper clip that fit on the back of the rod that goes through headlamp switch( you have to pull off back cover of switch and parts fly all over) and when you pull it out makes a connection, I glue gunned it on but only lasted a little while before coming off again....dealer part price was 79.00 and up depending on dealer, only good thing about it is it takes like 2 minute 30 seconds to change, pop dash bezel off 3 screws- 2 wiring clips and thats it...

replace the switch. when u use the new one make sure u dont dimm the dash lights. leave them at full bright. the dimming causes the switch to overheat.

Driving at night with your dash lights on full brightness cuts down on your ability to see up the road because of what the lights do to your pupils. I'd rather burn out a switch than hit a deer that I couldn't see staring into my headlights because it was blinded.:D

I found out by takingf it apart and found that the piece had seperated from the dowel, tried many ways to fix it but in the end it was the switch that won,i am seeking a replacement.
