Won't start

I have a 96 3.9L 2WD RAM. Rebuilt the motor after the previous block cracked. This is the 4th motor rebuild for me. Put it together, everything checked out fine throughout the build. Tried to start it last weekend, but no luck. First there was no pressure on the clutch, but after adding fluid and replacing a hose, that has good resistance now. Still nothing, so I Checked starter and battery and both are good according to local autozone. Can turn engine by hand when transmission is in neutral and drive shaft disconnected. When key is turned can hear the fuel pump working, but nothing at all from the starter.

ANY suggestions would be appreciated.

might be neutral safety switch locking out the starter.

You did ck clutch pedal position switch? SW is closed with pedal depressed.

i have acutally rebuilt 4 motors, but for different vehicles. Just wanted to imply that i have done this work before and have had success with rebuilding engines. I will check the switch.

update

still no start. battery cable at starter records as 12V. Clutch position switch has 12V when clutch is not depressed and key is on. Is that what I should be reading in that position?
All fuses are okay.

my guess would be autozone was wrong about the starter but then again that would never happen.... try jumping it out
