If you want to pay out the *** shop at crutchfield, otherwise be smart save some money and shop at onlinecarstereo.com just an FYI
I've bought everything for my pickup from here.

Just if I got a new stereo I'd like to get a single-din. Not half-Din.
What do you guys think about this stereo? Its got everything I want.

This is very true. Everything I looked at when it came to "sizing" the speakers for my 96 had every speaker size WRONG.

I made the choice to re-wire the entire sound system and install some add-ons and rewiring is not to hard and I used the file from this thread https://dodgeforum.com/forum/2nd-gen...tmas-guys.html

Keep that file handy, it is a great tool.

I'll update on my status after I finish the transmission install :-(

I have my own 1999 FSM in the truck. What exactly did you use it for?

$250.00 bucks just so it some what sorta fills the hole? That's BS.

That deck has nothing more to offer than is larger size. I've been talking to Ramhunter1 a lot about decks the last few days and he's going with an $80.00 pioneer that does everything the one you listed goes for. The thing is, you have to buy a $30.00 dash kit to make it work. So It's up to you. $250, or $110.00?

Let's not forget, that damn thing has a bajillion buttons on the front to deal with. You plan on letting your dad drive and you devote your cab time to just navigating the friggin radio?

I think that it looks way better!!!! And, I do think it is worth it. I'll be happy with it.

Bajillion buttons? I counted 20 on the Pioneer. The Clarion you showed me earlier has 16 buttons. I counted 20 buttons on my stock radio. At the most I'll be using 8 of the buttons at a time. The volume, presets, and the clock. Most everything else looks to be settings and things I can do at the time I put it in. The layout is similar to the old Pioneer tape stereo that is in the S-10, and we figured that out in 10 minutes w/o a manual. And everything is spaced out better than the 1.0 dins.
