Ram Ball joint q's
Hey all, I have to start, by thanking everyone who has posted here. I've already solved 2 problems through the archives!! This site is a wealth of information!! Definitely stoked!! I've tons of questions but will start w/ a couple of hopefully easy ones. Does anyone know where, if possible to find "heavy duty" Ram 1500 balljoints for a 1998 4x4 quadcab??? Everything I come across online is for 2500 stuff. If not, is there is a way to modify 2500 ball joints to work on a 1500 setup w/ out throwing a Dana 50 or 60 up front & reinventing the wheel. Options, questions, laughs, are all excepted. I live offroad & the thing takes a beating everyday I drive it.
Thanks again! Will post a pic of the beast soon! P.S. My dream setup would be from: http://koreperformance.com/ but again, they have squat for an older 98 & 1500, bummer. |

Thanks
Thanks for the reply man. I'll check Rock. I might have answered my own question though. On some offroad sites I found moog ball joints. Still investigating though! Thanks again

You can get Moog products thru NAPA or Summit.

Moog is probably the best choice, but building the perfect beast usually means upgrading to a built D60. Heavy on the "built" tag, as some D60s aren't much stronger axlewise and ball joint wise as a D-44. But you can fix that on a 60.
Then again, I know a lot of guys that still run a 44 off road without issues...or is that a bed full of spare parts. Either way, they seem to do as well as many of the big boys. |
Cheers hente
Thanks for the thoughts everyone! Yeah I'd love to upgrade to a 60 some day, right now I'm just TRYING to prioritize, W/ out going off the deep end. My next big purchases are gonna be a new transmission & then later a new motor...hopefully1-2 years later on the motor!lol Tks again!-N-
