A li'l regret

its been 2 years since i had my second gen, bought it with 120xxx for 9100 bucks i bought it single cab short bed, and i got it because i liked it , my cousin had the same thing single cab short bed with the 5.9, and we both liked them because there small and faster than the bigger bed/cabs..

i also bought my ram because he had a red ram that was bored over with a rv cam built to tow and he bought that off his dad and that thing had balls like head would go to the backseat when pedal was nailed it was a 2x4 . but he sold it cause his dad told him too many miles and it was getting old and remind you he was like 18 at the time ,so his dad said he could get a brand new decota if he did , sooo he got a decota 4.7 and totatted it racing an eclipse then he got his 98 ram.. but that how and why i love 2nd gen rams soo much lol

but now that im getting older i want a second gen with a quad cab short bed, im just thinking of the future ,i dont really need a single cab for anything . like i been getting into camping now and hard to make room , someday i will want kids and that wont work having a single cab , but now im stuck with it i bought it for 9100 and put like 8 into it , and its in like perfect condition i just beat on it and take care of it at the same time.. sorry for my long rant im stuck at home for 12 weeks with 2 broken ankles with cast and a wheelchair just thinking :(

I got my quad cab with kids in mind, no question about it, theres so much more room - And the bed can easily fit bulk items like fridges & washers, even with a tool box eating up space.

But thinking about kids "some day" does not = now - Hell, if you start tonight, its still going to take a while.
And at that point, you might want to consider something with a little less baggage for toting kids around that a 2nd gen. not knocking 2nd gens at all, I love my truck.
But when it comes time for me to get another one, I won't be looking 2nd gen, I already did that 7 years ago.

No regrets, man. Owning these trucks is not about getting any kind of return on your money. Just chalk it up to experience and move on. Hell, I lost my shirt on my 2nd gen and I'm old enough to know better. Good luck with your ankles, BTW.

+1, and to add to that further, owning ANY vehicle is not about getting a return on your money, with the exception of classic cars/trucks and complete custom jobs. Its not like a house, that given the proper economy, will always appreciate in value.

Vehicles are the worst investment you can make, they almost always lose money. We buy what we buy because we love them, not because they will keep their value. Still, we're way better off than the econobox driving 'tards who likely have never had a personal relationship with any vehicle and buy those pukes for stupid things like gas mileage or low price. We're a better breed than that.:icon_wink:

You could always put a camper shell on it. Won't help with passengers, but more covered, lockable space is a good thing.

umm yea. Put that whole Mini Van thing off as long as possible.
