Default I think my a/c is stuck on.

when I turn the **** for hot or cold air the temp changes just fine.

while on red it's nice and hot not complaints, when I turn it to blue (even on a hot day) the air coming out is cold like the a/c is on. even if I don't have the other **** turned to the snow flake.

my truck also makes that hissing sound when you run the a/c after I shut it off and while driving.

my vents are working just fine and will switch from defrost to vent to floor.

so I think that my truck always has the a/c running? any ideas?

I have the exact same problem. The compressor runs with the climate control on any position except for off.
I cannot get cool air, only cold ac if the temp selector is on blue.

I have just pulled the compressor relay until I find a solution, as I won't be needing A/C anytime soon.

If you think the AC is running wth the switch in the off position, look at the clutch in front of the AC compressor. It should be stopped. If it is running you have a switch or wiring problem.

You should have an AC relay in the power distribution center. Check it to see if it may be stuck in the on position.

The hissing sound is normal. Mine hisses at shutdown. I believe it is the pressure being relieved.

You don't need the dial on the snow flake setting for A/C, it works while in the defrost and face/feet selection as well. Turn it to just the face setting and it will go off.

Not mine. compressor engages in any setting.

What a timely question!

I just had my evaporator replaced and since getting back the truck, I am noticing that the compressor is running in non-snowflake modes.

Does anyone know all the modes in which the A/C is on? The owner's manual is vague on this IIRC.

Huh, thats odd. Mine engages in all the settings aside from the "face only" and "floor only" settings.

Well, my compressor is running with the dial to RED. Seems like a HUGE waste of energy to have it run all the time. I can't imagine that every 318 and 360 dodge is doing this and we are the first 5 people to notice???

I will check that switch stated earlier.
