Question about trim packages

I just bought a 97 Ram 1500 V8 Magnum. It has the extended cab with an 8ft bed. The previous owner had taken all of the badges off of the tailgate. Only the 1500 V8 Magnum badges on the door survived. How do I know which trim package I have? i.e. ST, SLT, Laramie, etc.. . . Any insight to this would be great!

Wheels would be your best bet to start. They might be steel wheels or you could have the aluminum alloy wheels.

Overall, the only REAL way you can tell is to go to www.dodge.com and request a build sheet. It will give you the trim level.

Awesome! Thanks!

it also may not have had any special trim package....many only had 1500 v8 magnum emblems and 4x4 and dodge stickers on the rear.

ALL Rams had a designated trim level. ALL OF THEM. ST, SLT, Sport, Sport Off Road, Super Sport Truck, Laramie, and SLT+

well my designated trim package according to the email from dodge is "premium cloth" and I"ve yet to see that on any ram as an emblem....
my point is I dont believe the standard edition trucks had any addition emblems stating that (I said special trim)...just the ones on the sides saying 1500 v8 magnum and the standard stickers on the tailgate saying dodge and maybe 4x4. mine didnt have any.

Then that would have more than likely been an SLT.

"premium cloth" just denotes what kind of material is covering the seats.
