Angry Wont start

1998 dodge 1500 4 x 4 5.7 or magnum engine w/automatic.

ok try to start after setting in drive while waiting on clips to hold innner door panel on from window coming out of track. I unplugged the wires to locks and mirror. I started it a couple times during this. So yesterday get in going to go hunting and no start. History on this truck is its done this before during these wet and cold michigan winters, now cold with snow on ground. I would unplug the fuel system relay crank engine, then plug relay back in and it would fire up. its been nice to me all summer till now. That trick is not working.
Where do i start? In process of cleaning grounds ect looking for low hanging fruit but have not found any thing yet.

Note: its got new bat and i have not had any problems with charging.
Have had to replace o2 and idle sensor recently. Did fix problems for a while, now it idles and starts sucking air if you do not get it on the road and going before it dies i shut engine off and restart. it then runs good.

thanks mike

no offense, but you dont even know the engine size...5.7's didnt come in rams 94-2001, and you expect to understand what we are about to tell you?

Does it crank over or just make a click and nothing else might be the starter.

go for that IAC... if ya need to know where that is,,, if ya take your intake off... look at your throttle body... that big hole in the back,,, thats it...

Hold on, which engine do you really have? Its most likely not a 5.7 unless you added that.

Your options:
3.9 v6 Magnum
5.2L Magnum
5.9L Magnum?

he wrote in there it is a 5.7( not) or a magnum with an auto... so im guessing its either the 5.2 or 5.9,,, cause its uncommon u get a 3.9 with auto.. ive only seen one, ( not saying they arnt out there, just not common) but i beleive all three of those motors have the same thing( IAC) but i havent seena 3.9s intake so i could be wrong there

Lets clear things up, This was my first post I 'm new to this forum. The engine is a 5.9 in a dodge ram. It cranks good ect. I stated this. Where would you start if it were you trouble shooting this truck.

Just like meanwhitemopar said, start with the IAC first. You can check the rail just to make sure fuel is coming up the the injectors. Just because you hear the fuel pump doesnt mean it is working properly.
