Default Didnt Know 5.9's were gas guzzlers

HEY GUYS (and girls) i have got a 99 sport 5.9. when i first got it the gas milage on the thing sucked (around 7/8 mpg). then i changed to a k&n air filter changed my plugs and wires (NGK) and did fuel injection cleaners every 10k miles. I drive 50/50 city/highway and im getting around 13 now. But i have noticed some guys in here who have significantly more mpg. I also noticed the fast man 52mm TB, where can i find one (inexpensive if possible). Also has anyone put a TB spacer on? Do they work and are they worth the money? If they do work wut kind is the best kind to get? I have a good budget but not huge. Any help would be greatly appriciated? Thanks! -Marshall (Fiveninemag)

Yep, very much a gas guzzler. You have to pay to play, and I wish I was getting 13 mpg. I get around 10. I dont know much about the fast man but I will be very interested to see what others say. Good luck with it.

fastman's are $220 delivered thru the group buy... contact dodgegirl19 (Amanda) and she'll point you in the right direction

the best mpg I've had on my truck was 15.8 mpg... on 2 tanks of all hiway driving. it depends on the state you live in and the formula of gas it requires... found this out thru experimenting on 2 road trips...

here in CA I average 13.5 mpg, you two probably have tuneup issues to deal with...

thanks for the hook up with dodgegirl19.....ima buy a fastman from her pretty soon. Now the $220 is shipped right? Anyway, anyone have any luck with or advise about a TB spacer? Do they provide better fuel economy, HP gains, torque gains, etc. If anyone here thinks they are worth the money please lemme know. Also is there anyone in here that lives in the jacksonville (FL) area, all my friends drive imports and im lookin to hang out with others that own REAL trucks. I appriciate the info and the help. -Marshall

TB spacers are good paper weights, dont wast your money. Money would be better spent on a good intake kit (K&N is my favorite because of the heat shield) or exhaust.

I average around 8-9 or 10 if I'm very light on the gas but that is mixed highway and city but mainly city driving I also have a lift and bigger tires.
