Why didn't I think of this....
 

I'm up here in Columbus, Ohio for the weekend and decided to checkout craigslist, theres a guy on here selling his "one of a kind" Ram, when you read the description make sure to pay attention to the back bumper, he filled them full of concrete. granted i would never want to take it off but i'll bet that would do a number on a tree!! lmao.

I bet it smooths out the ride too. The little bit of research I did before I bought my truck came up with a lot of people saying that these trucks have a much smoother ride with a little weight in the bed.

Neat idea, but IF that thing has a 2 inch lift (which I don't see look at the front) look at how much sagging is going on in the rear, now granted, that can be partially from the age, but the weight of that bumper isn't helping.

haha thats nothing i seen a guy come into my work with a jeep that had a extior roll cage made out of scd 40 pluming pipe. no welds,just screwed together elbows and couplings.and as far as puting concret in the bumper thats just dumb in my book hanging wight off the back is just gonna put wear and tear on the suspion and make it sage.

I do like the functional ram air hood though. :D

As far as the concrete it probably does smooth out the ride, but I wouldn't want to do it, would probably make my MPG even worse. :)

there's a guy over on one of the diesel forums that poured a 1300 hundred pound, three inch concrete slab in the bed of his truck.

I think I could have done something a little better with a tube bumper than that. I would have tapped it and inserted air fittings thus being able to have on board air, maybe even going to extent of wiring in an electric air pump to keep them full if I was to need it.

Yeah the 1500's definately ride a little better with weight in the back, with my springs from my lift just having a 380lb quad in the bed makes it ride way better.

Filling your bed with concrete... wow...
Has he not heard of sandbags?
Or better yet, the 60lb bags of concrete mix. My dad left a couple in the bed of his truck years ago. It rained, and they turned into concrete. So, he had pretty portable, yet heavy weights in the bed.
