Climate control doesn't work

Ever since i bought my truck a year ago the climate control doesnt work.I've been changin it in manually with a pliers underneath the dash on the right side ever since. No idea where to start.Any help?

Which part doesn't work? Temp? Vents don't change? What?

I always tried turning down the temp in my truck, but, it was still hotter than hades outside. Damn. Need to figger out how to get that to work. :D

The temp part of it.The AC and heater work great if i change it underneath the dash. The one that changes it from defrost to the vents or the floor work fine too.

Temp is controlled by a little stepper motor...... Neat huh? These guys have a little plastic coupler, that seems to like to break. There was a thread a few days ago, about a company that makes that little coupler out of METAL, instead of cheap plastic. According to popular theory, you can actually put a finger on the little motor, without having to yank the dash. Do need to do some padding carving to get it out though.

You can find that guy down by the trans tunnel, on the passenger side. Should be just an electrical connector going to it.

I'll see what i can find as soon as soon as i find a spare minute. Thanks a bunch for the help.

Any idea on the name of the thread?

Not a clue.... went looking for it, but, not sure what the title was, which was not very informative...... don't remember who posted it either....... even tried a tag search, and failed miserably.......

Doing a google search might be more effective.

Pull the the stepper motor down and take a pliers to the part that the stepper motor hooks to.Just turn it the one way and see if ya took it the right way
