2001 dodge ram 1500 won't run!

My daughter has a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4wd. She went out to start it and it started and ran for about 3 seconds and then died. It did this about 4 times and now it just turns over. The fuel gauge and volt gauge don't work. The code on the odometer comes up no bus. We have spark and we have fuel pressure in the the fuel rails but we do not have an electric pulse down the wires to the fuel injection. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sounds like it could be either a ground problem, or a blown pcm. there are 2 grounds on the top left bolt of the power steering pump. check those first, they are grounds that allow the gauges to work i found that out the hard way when i replaced my p/s pump. it will just turn over if the grounds are bad.

check the battery and cables, check the ignition wires, the ignition coils, and the distributor...don't think it would be the pcm, but hey I haven't had to replace one yet

if you have no spark and no power to fuel pump, then you have an ASD shutdown. first step is to swap the ASD relay with something else, like horn or wiper or something.

however, the no bus indicates a communication failure of the pcm and sensors. could be a bad ground, or it could be a shorted out sensor. i think? it was master_tech that suggested unplugging all sensors to see if the problem woulg go away, and if it did, then plug them back in one at a time to identify the culprit.
