engine stalling after coming to a stop
I have a 99 dodge ram 1500 4x4 sport 5.9L. I searched through the threads and couldnt find an answer so im posting a new thread. The truck will run great until i have to stop like at a light. When I go to take off again after braking to a stop it will stall and then the engine dies out. But only when I brake to a stop. Not when i put it in park and try to go again. But if I stop and keep a foot on the gas and one on the brake it's fine even though i know youre not suppose to do that. but quiet frankly i dont like my truck being stuck at an intersection. I will also note the truck did sit for 2 years before i got it. Ive put a lot of time and money into this truck.

Try cleaning the IAC. Disconnect negative battery cable first. https://dodgeforum.com/forum/dodge-r...n-the-iac.html

Wow....um...What engine? How many miles? Check engine light on? A little more info would go along way towards us helping you. You might also consider starting your own thread. Welcome to the forum.

No new thread please! LOL Let the "loser" read this thread and clean his IAC.

Glad it worked.
I would also like to add that I meant no disrespect to that "loser" . After all, he is the one that chose that name. I was just having fun with it.

Did you remove the throttle body or just remove the IAC? Looks like a PIA to get to without removing the TB. Thing is, the doofuses at autozone look at me funny when I ask the a throttle body gasket for my truck. Have not tried oreilly's yet, but those meatheads p!ss me off too.
