Like they said before it really depends on so many factors. Ive raced one or two 5.9's stock and have whooped them pretty good. But I had the plenum leak fixed, CAI, shorty headers, flowmaster exhaust, and they had not fixed the plenum, using stock airbox, and no real upgrades.
I did get my **** handed to my by an Indy 500 Ram w/ nearly identical mods. =[
I would say go for it, win or lose its still pretty fun to race.

I have a lil 1996 dodge ram 5.2 liter ext. cab and short bed...but 2wd and I race my buddy's 1998 dodge ram Sport 5.9 liter ext. cab/short bed BUT 4wd...we both have the same gears and around 160,000-166,000 miles on our trucks. I had cold air and true dual exhaust...he had cat back without muffler sidepipe and spectre air filter. I can take him from a dead stop by three lengths or so

i am having difficulties with my 99 dodge ram heater, i have checked the thermostat, the heater core, my switch to turn it from hot to cold, and nothing seems wrong, when i turn the blower on the first notch it works just fine, and when i gradually go up it starts cooling down, by the third notch it is cold, and by the fourth notch it's just like the ac was on, any suggestions
